2003 Freightliner Sprinter van (engine by Mercedes) with super high ceiling, short wheelbase (118") with 240k miles. Manufacturer says 26 mpg, but we always got 22 mpg. In preparing to sell the van, we had the Dodge dealer flush transmission system, replace filter and adjust bands, found no problems with transmission. Runs good, starts well, two new rear tires, new battery, new fuel injection pump, fuel pressure solenoid and fuel filter. There are three warning lights that have been on since we bought it three years ago (ABS, SRS and acceleration skid control). Had dealer check them 2 years ago, they said all three systems are fine, they reset lights but they came back on. Dealer said these are "erroneous error codes" and it would take a few hours for them to track down the computer issue that is causing the lights to stay on.

INTERIOR: This was a cargo van that we had professionally converted to an 8-passenger van (they added two stock Dodge/Freightliner benches, with seatbelts, that seat 3 each, insulation, matching upholstery, three UV block windows, rear speakers, etc.). It has interior cargo racks in the ceiling, so we could use it to travel to art shows without having to use ladders/roof racks. It works great, keeps our gear dry, easy to access and there is still room for the family! There is a lot of cargo room behind the second bench, and the photo shows how much we can get behind seats and in the cargo racks (and still be able to stand up in the van). The back of the rear bench seat has two holes in the plastic, near the bottom. where it was damaged by cargo. Three of the plastic seat belt housings (on the rear benches) have cracks in the back, but do not affect the seat belt retraction or function at all (again, cargo damage!).

EXTERIOR: We had Maaco do some rust removal and paint the van 2 years ago, but they did not remove any rust on the underside of the hood, so there is rust there and a small spot of surface rust on the front of the hood. We planned to replace/paint the hood, as it was cheaper than rust removal, just never got around to it. Body is in good shape, with a few minor dings.

This is the rare short wheelbase, so it works great in the city. It's amazing how easy it is to drive, has a good turning radius so it's easy to park too. We love this van but bought it to run on biodiesel, then realized how time-consuming making biodiesel is! So we bought a vehicle that can run on SVO instead and are selling this van. Item is also listed locally, thus we reserve the right to end bidding early if it sells locally. Please contact us for more info., more photos, etc. Can be paid for with credit card through our business.
